SELF SUSTAINABLE TRAINING FARMS

Self-sustainability is a holistic approach to meeting your needs while minimizing environmental impact. Simply put, you build a harmonious relationship between an individuals needs and the environment.

Practices that enable or aid self-sustainability include autonomous building, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy. The term is also applied to limited forms of self-sustainability, for example growing one's own food or becoming economically independent.

Sustainable Lifestyles are considered as ways of living, social behaviors and choices, that minimize environmental degradation (use of natural resources, CO2 emissions, waste and pollution) while supporting equitable socio-economic development and better quality of life for all.

Self-sustainable living can present challenges, it offers significant potential for improving the quality of life and economic stability for impoverished communities.

SHELTER AND HOUSING

Self-sustainable ecological homes are autonomous homes that have little or no adverse effects on the environment. They come with their own resources – their own energy, sewage system, food, water, heating, cooling, and drainage. But more importantly, their resources are eco-friendly.

ORGANIC FOOD SOURCE

Growing their own vegetables, fruits, and even raising small livestock can help impoverished individuals achieve better food security. It reduces dependence on market prices, which can be volatile, and ensures a more consistent supply of nutritious food.

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS

Sustainable living practices reduce environmental impact, which is beneficial for everyone, but particularly for impoverished communities that may be more vulnerable to environmental issues. Cleaner water, better air quality, and reduced waste can have direct health benefits.

SELF SUSTAINABLE WATER SOURCE

Sustainable water means a nation that can be water self-sufficient, ensuring there is enough water to meet multiple needs, from agriculture to municipal and industrial. It also means water supply will remain consistent, despite climate change impacts, such as a lack of rainfall and drought, or too much rain and being flood resilient.

SELF SUFFICIENT POWER SOURCE

Power methods that use sustainable resources, like water, wind, and sunlight, are naturally occurring and can meet the energy demand. This inexhaustible energy source will not run out and has a very low environmental impact.

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

Self-sustainability projects can create economic opportunities within communities. For example, surplus produce can be sold or traded, and skills learned through these projects can open doors to new employment opportunities or small business ventures. Engaging in self-sustainable practices such as gardening, renewable energy installation, and waste management can provide valuable skills that enhance employability and foster a sense of self-reliance and empowerment. By growing their own food, generating their own energy, and reducing reliance on purchased goods and services, people can significantly lower their living expenses. This can free up money for other essential needs like healthcare, education, and housing. Self-sustainable living fosters a sense of autonomy and control over one’s life. It can help individuals and communities feel more capable and less dependent on external aid, which is a powerful driver of long-term well-being.

CULTURAL RESTORATION

The importance of cultural sustainability lies within its influential power over the people, as decisions that are made within the context of society are heavily weighed by the beliefs of that society.
